Bradley Garmston could be involved for the Gills again this weekend after making an appearance in their midweek Kent Senior Cup clash.

Garmston has been out all season with a calf injury but was in action against Phoenix Sports on Tuesday.

He may have to make do with a place on the bench at Peterborough but does add to the defensive options.

Gills are likely to still be missing Luke O’Neill (hamstring), Alex Lacey (ankle) and Ben Nugent (foot) from the back-line. The latter limped off in Sunday’s defeat to Portsmouth.

Reacting to the news of Garmston’s return, caretaker-boss Peter Taylor said: “It was a shame (about the injury) because he worked exceptionally hard in pre-season, did everything right, then all of a sudden his calf went. He had hamstring problems before but not calf.

“It has been a little bit of a nightmare for him and for us but we have been really patient this time.

“We certainly haven’t rushed it but we could do with him and Scott Wagstaff fit.”

Wagstaff (calf) was an unused substitute last weekend and also played 45 minutes at Phoenix.

Mark Byrne, meanwhile, is back from a hamstring strain and a one-game ban but the Gills are still missing striker Tom Eaves, serving the last of his four-game suspension.
