Gillingham winger Jordan Graham has declared himself fit again for the weekend trip to Plymouth Argyle.

Graham was a key man in the Gills squad before picking up an injury, meaning he’s had to sit out the last six League 1 matches.

Jordan Graham should be back in action for Gillingham this weekend

It’s good news for Gills fans, however, ahead of their match against lowly Plymouth, with Graham taking to social media to say he is ready to resume action.

In a twitter post, he wrote: “Happy new year to every single one of you that see this...back to work for me Saturday afternoon too...let’s goooooo.”

Graham has scored six goals so far this season and his crossing ability had created many more too. His return will be a major boost for the Gills and they need it.

Steve Evans’ men were beaten 3-1 at struggling Northampton Town on Tuesday night, missing out on a chance to close the gap on the play-off positions.

Evans only named 16 men in his midweek squad, from a maximum 18, with injuries keeping several players out of the squad, while Covid concerns led reserve keeper Joe Walsh to be sidelined.

Jacob Mellis is one of those who has been missing and it’s a frustrating one for Evans, who said: “We just don’t know where we are going with this. The consultant said they had found us a remedy to get him through the season but then two weeks after playing football he is out again. We need to treat that on a game by game basis. It is unfortunate because he is a top player.”

Dominic Samuel remains out, as does Henry Woods.
