Mark Stimson looking for experience

Gillingham manager Mark Stimson won’t be pursuing Charlton pair Ben Godfrey and Harry Arter.

The youngsters played in the club's reserve match against QPR on Thursday.

“They did okay but they’re not for us yet,” said Stimson.

“We need to raise the bar. If we are going to get into these play-offs we need players who have played at a decent level and have played a few games."

Godfrey and Arter were among several trialists playing for the reserves at QPR's Harlington training ground, in a game which Gillingham lost 2-1.
