Gillingham could come face to face with former players Charlie Lee and Chris Whelpdale in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

The pair left Gillingham for League 2 Stevenage at the end of last season after spending three full seasons at the club.

The draw for the first round of the JPT handed Gillingham an away tie at Stevenage. That match is likely to be scheduled for Tuesday, September 2.

Stevenage were relegated from League 1 last season.

Last season the Gills were knocked out at the first round stage by Leyton Orient, losing 3-1 at Priestfield.

Gillingham have, meanwhile, announced the price for tickets for the forthcoming League Cup second round match against Newcastle United.

The Gills are due to take on Premier League Newcastle on Tuesday, August 26.

Adult tickets cost £20, senior citizens £15, under-18s £10 and under-12s £7. There are no concession prices in Medway Blocks D, E and F. No further details have been announced.
