The manager of top Sunday League side Quested has been hit with a three-game ban for offering to “fight the opposition in the car park.”

Steve Lester admitted a charge of improper conduct after his actions during a pre-season Senior Shield match between Quested and fellow Medway Area Sunday League side Bells were reported by the match officials.

The charge was that Mr Lester entered the field of play during a water break and had refused to leave when requested to do so by the referee, who he also allegedly verbally abused.

It was further reported that at the end of the match Mr Lester, according to the officials “was being aggressive to players and management from Bells FC and repeatedly called opposition players c****, telling them he would fight them in the car park.”

For a breach of FA rule E3: Improper conduct (including threatening and/or abusive language/behaviour), Mr Lester was suspended from all football for three matches and fined £40.
