Holcombe’s midfield is set to be the envy of the Premier League next season.

Chatham-born international Ashley Jackson will be lining up next season alongside GB and England’s most capped player Barry Middleton in what will be a formidable unit.

“We’ve got a strong spine to the team,” said team manager Keith Martin, whose squad now includes seven GB international players.

“Ashley is a local lad and knows the other international players well.

“He’s exceptional at drag-flick penalty corners and is a direct replacement for Dan Coultas, who is leaving.

“He’s a marvellous midfield player and already plays in midfield along with Barry Middleton for England and Great Britain.

“Our midfield is going to be strong. If you have a strong midfield, then you’ve a good chance of beating most of the teams around you.”

Holcombe will also have a new centre-forward for the 2015-16 campaign after capturing Beeston’s international Sam Ward.
