Darcey Kuypers of Medway and Maidstone set a new 200m personal best of 25.19sec to finish sixth on her England debut in the SIAB Schools International at Cardiff on Saturday, writes Alan Newman.

Kuypers was fourth in the English Schools intermediate girls' 200m (25.22, PB) at Birmingham the previous week to gain her first international vest.

England easily won the competition with 494 points from Ireland (359), Wales (246) and Scotland (223).

Kent athletes in medal positions on the track were Sabrina Sinha (Cambridge Harriers) who won her 1,500m in 4min23.35sec, Ethan Akanni (Bexley) with second at 100m hurdles in 13.64, Chris Cohen (Tonbridge) with third in the under-17 1,500m 3.58.28 and 3,000m walker Luc Legon (Bexley), who gained bronze in a personal-best 14.18.36.

In the field there were podium positions for English Schools champion and record holder James Whiteaker (Kent Schools) with second in the javelin (67.41m) and Divine Oladipo (Cambridge Harriers), second in the shot (13.95).
