Gillingham striker Cody McDonald has put pen to paper to a new two-year contract at Priestfield.

The 28-year-old star has scored 33 goals in 86 appearances since signing for the club on a permament basis from Coventry in July 2013.

It is his third spell with the Gills - the first a successful loan from Norwich City in 2010/11 which saw him score 25 goals in 41 games, with another seven-game stint on loan from Coventy in 2012/13 during which he netted four times.

In total McDonald - who also enjoyed a successful season at Dartford in 2008/09 - has scored 62 goals in 135 games in a Gills shirt.

McDonald told the club’s official website: “I’m massively happy. To be honest it was never really in doubt and I'm pleased it’s all done.

“I’ve always produced my best Football here and I enjoy playing here, it’s worked out well for the first two years and hopefully in the second two I can continue to improve.”
