Luke Norris could be involved for the Gills at Wigan on Thursday night.

An injury at the weekend had manager Justin Edinburgh and fans fearing the worst but the blow to his ankle isn’t considered serious.

Edinburgh is monitoring the striker closely ahead of the live televised game this week.

He said: “It is certainly very good news in terms of the initial injury and him leaving the field (on Saturday).

“It is not as bad as we first feared and there is a possibility that Luke will be involved on Thursday. That is great news for us on that front.

“If he does miss Thursday then he will certainly be good to go for Doncaster (next Saturday).”

Norris has only recently returned from an injury to his other ankle which kept him out for two months.

He was back in the side over the Christmas period, coming off the bench in Gills’ last four games.

If he does miss the Wigan trip, Edinburgh will now be able to call on Ben Williamson, who has returned from a loan spell with League 2 Cambridge United.
