Adedeji Oshilaja could make a welcome return for Gillingham's game at home to Oldham on Saturday.

The Cardiff loan defender has missed the last five matches but has been back in full training during the week.

Boss Justin Edinburgh said: “He is progressing really well and barring any disasters we will be back to full strength.

“He had been outstanding and his performances were at a good level.

“It gives us that competition we need and strength in depth again, that’s what you want as a manager. You want the whole squad to be there to select from and make sure that competition for places is as high as it can be.”

Ryan Jackson is a doubt after limping off just before the break against Fleetwood on Tuesday with a groin injury.

Edinburgh was hopeful of him returning, but the right-back was undergoing tests throughout the week to make sure he is 100%.

Harry Lennon was signed on loan from Charlton on Friday as defensive cover and is available.

If the Gills are at full strength, it will mean two senior players won’t make the 18-man squad. Striker Ben Williamson missed the cut on Tuesday, having started their previous match at Barnsley.
