Probe into alleged attack on soccer ref

BOSSES of the Medway Today Sunday soccer league's management committee are to investigate allegations of an assault on referee Bob Colyer who abandoned yesterday's Division 5 match between leaders Bridgewardens and Edmundson Sports.

Mr Colyer took the decision after 30 minutes following the alleged assault during a scuffle involving players of both teams.

Bridgewardens, who were looking to register a 12th league win from as many matches, had two players cautioned early in the game and then found themselves two goals down in inside the opening half hour. By then another four players had been cautioned.
