Welling manager Jamie Coyle's reaction to the 3-3 draw against Concord Rangers

Welling boss Jamie Coyle blamed individual errors after they were held at home by Concord on Saturday.

The Wings missed the chance to go second in National League South after conceding an injury-time equaliser in a 3-3 draw with the Essex side.

"Defensively we were a shambles, an absolute shambles," said Coyle. "They've had three or four chances and scored three goals.

"Every single goal they've scored has come from an individual mistake.

"To be fair to the boys we haven't been like that this year, we've been reliable individually and collectively.

"We work every week on our defensive shape, but I don't think it was our shape, it was decision making.

"We should have been two or three up early on. It was always one of them when you miss two or three opportunities like that, you know you are going to be hit by a sucker punch at the other end.

"We've been fortunate recently that we've been making the right decisions and that's why we've been on a decent run. It's back to the drawing board.

"We can always look at the defensive work, that's the easiest bit to work on. We've conceded three goals against Bognor and Concord, two teams who are down there, so that's not enough.

"We need to be more resilient but we have been recently, hopefully it is just a little hiccup."

Coyle praised his team's attacking display, albeit they lacked a cutting edge in front of goal.

Two missed chances by Christian Nanetti in the first five minutes set the tone but he was one of a number of players guilty of wasteful finishing.

"I thought our forward play was tremendous from the first minute, it was the best start we've had to a game in a long time," reflected Coyle.

"I know it's great we got something out of the game from being 2-0 down but we created enough chances to win three games.

"At 2-0 down you take anything but there was only one team in it. They were dangerous on the counter attack but there was only one team in it and I can't wait to see the stats.

"To be fair to the boys going forward they were tremendous but you shouldn't have to score four goals at home to win a game of football.

"We created so many chances. Nanetti should have scored twice in the first five minutes. If you get an early goal at home then it's a totally different game.

"If we'd nicked three goals and not really threatened then I'd have concerns."
