Gillingham and Dover are awaiting news on the seriousness of Callum Davies’ latest injury.

The youngster recently joined Dover Athletic from the Gills in a bid to get match fit but limped out of Whites’ FA Cup clash at Cheltenham on Sunday.

He was making his second start for Dover. He last played for the Gills, against Scunthorpe, on October 11.

Gills boss Peter Taylor said: “He has a slight ankle injury and we will find out when it is going to get better once he has spoken to a specialist.

“We hope it is soon because Dover have got Crystal Palace in the FA Cup (third round) and he will want to be involved in that.”

Davies is currently on a deal at Dover until January 4.
