The dressing room here is infectious and it’s great to be back around it.

I’ve been watching games for the last two months or so, I’m there for every home game and am in more or less every day with the boys as well.

I am not on the training pitch just yet but in the gym most days, trying to get ahead of myself.

The aim is to be back for pre-season. There are a couple of thoughts going around that maybe I could get back before the end of the season but we will just play it by ear.

If I am back before then fantastic but if I’m not 100%, then there would be no point in risking it. That extra time off at the end of the season could make a world of difference, so I can come back firing.

When I do come back I am going to be pretty fit, an absolute whippet around the pitch.

I’m in the gym most days and twice a week I go into an altitude chamber at the university. They take your oxygen away so that your heart and lungs are working harder. It is horrible.

Myself and Lee Martin, along with a couple of other boys, have been doing it, on the bike in that chamber.

We also do sessions on a treadmill that takes away your body weight, so you can run at half your weight. The impact going through your legs isn’t as much and you can get your technique back.

The boys have given myself and Lee some banter because we’ve been working together so much.

There might be a little bromance brewing and my missus might get a bit jealous.

At least the missus has finally got a ring on her finger over the summer – after 10 years of waiting!

Although this injury might have delayed the wedding date a bit, we did say 2018. She has waited that long so what’s another couple of years! When the time is right, we will get it done.
