Cyclist still fighting for life after hit-and-run crash with lorry on A259, near Brenzett

A cyclist is still fighting for his life in hospital after a hit-and-run crash with a lorry near Ashford.

It happened just before 3pm on Friday, on the A259 near Brenzett, when the lorry driver failed to stop at the scene.

The cyclist sustained life threatening injuries and was rushed to a London hospital for treatment where he remains.

A man in his 70s from East Sussex was arrested but police say he has since been released under investigation.

Officers are appealing for anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to come forward.
