There was a huge police response to a reported assault in the early hours of this morning.

At least seven police vehicles were spotted in the Neptune car park in Dymchurch at around 9.30am.

It follows reports of a man and woman being assaulted hours earlier.

The couple arrived at a Sussex hospital with hand and arm injuries and claimed they had been attacked in Dymchurch.

Officers are now carrying out inquiries.
