They discovered a large barn on fire and a man, in his 60s, was suffering from smoke inhalation.

He was given oxygen and placed into the care of paramedics who took him to hospital.

Thankfully, there were no other reported injuries.

The crews used hose reel jets, mains jets and compressed air foam to tackle the flames - before the fire was under control at 4.12am.

The large barn measured 20 metres by 10 metres.

Police were also in attendance, but "the cause of the fire was not deemed to be suspicious" so there was no need for further involvement, a police spokesperson said.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
