He was the evil force behind the infamous Red Wedding in Game of Thrones but the only claret splattered in David Bradley's latest feast was red wine as he visited a Kent restaurant.

Mr Bradley, who plays Walder Frey in the hit TV series, posed for a picture after he tucked into a seaside meal at The Pilot Inn in Dungeness this week.

One of Britain's best-loved character actors, he was the militant caretaker Argus Filch in the Harry Potter series.

The stage and screen performer was spotted by a member of staff as he dined in Romney Marsh.

Niko and Rachel Miaoulis, directors at the fish restaurant, said: "David was charming and posed for photos with a number of The Pilot crew after one of our staff Tristan, who is an aspiring actor, spotted him eating with his family.

"He was genuinely amazed at how busy we were and really interested in the logistics.

"David was also fascinated by the expanding coastline in front of The Pilot in Dungeness, where the land has grown from longshore drift by some 200 metres in the last 70 years.

"He also spent some time outside in our garden reading about the WWII B17 engine from The Sleepy Time Girl.

"He had a picture with Jonathan, our son, who is helping out in the kitchen on half term from Ashford School sixth form."

The pair's other son Robert also works at the business as a general manager.

The actor, aged 76, holds a Laurence Olivier Award for his role in a production of King Lear.

He has also appeared in Marvel's Captain America franchise and the highly-acclaimed ITV show Broadchurch.

The character of Filch was a caretaker at Hogwarts School in the Harry Potter films, who enjoyed telling students off.
