Rest assured you are not seeing double, this is a twin creation of Dungeness’ Old Lighthouse depicted as giant binoculars.

It is the work of artist James Marsh as part of a series of postcards to raise money for the village’s RNLI.

Mr Marsh, from Hythe, said: “The imagery is intended to reflect our local coastal area, wildlife and Dungeness in particular.’’

Other images include an abstract graphic of a butterfly and driftwood in the form of a bird’s head.

The postcards are available via the Dungeness Open Studios art gallery near the Old Lighthouse.

Mr Marsh has been a prolific artist since the 1960s and moved to the east Kent coast from London in 2002 after 37 years in the capital.

He has worked in the art department of record labels such as Pye and Decca and has designed album covers for bands and singers such as Erasure, Steeleye Span, Gerry Rafferty and Talk Talk.

In 1968 he produced the distinctive artwork for the book The Beatles’ Illustrated Lyrics.
