A young girl was cut free from a car by firefighters after a crash in Ivychurch last night.

Firefighters were called to New Church Lane at 8.24pm, to find the teenage girl - injured in a one-car crash - had walked to another car while waiting for an ambulance to arrive.

Paramedics suspected she was suffering from spinal injuries, so asked for the girl to be removed.

Crews used hydraulic rescue equipment and other tools to remove the back seats and a roof rack.

They then used specialist lifting equipment to help paramedics move her onto a longboard.

She was then helped by the paramedics.
