Woman in 20s 'grabbed' at bus stop in St Mary's Bay, Romney Marsh

A woman in her 20s has been reportedly 'grabbed' by a man in a white van over the bank holiday weekend.

The woman was waiting at the bus stop in Dymchurch Road, near to the junction with Fairway Close in St Mary’s Bay, when a large white van, similar in size to a transit van, pulled up alongside her.

An unknown man, who had got out of the van, approached her and grabbed her by the arm, but the victim was able to get away and run to safety.

It is said to have happened just after 5.30pm on Saturday.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The suspect is described being in his 50s, with olive skin, a stocky build and about 5 ft 8 ins tall.

He also had a grey beard and short grey curly hair.

He was wearing a dark zipped-up hooded top and dark tracksuit bottoms.
