A 31-year-old woman has died after being hit by a Suzuki 4x4 in Station Road, New Romney on Romney Marsh

A woman has died after she was hit by a car in New Romney yesterday evening.

The 31-year-old was a pedestrian and was knocked down by a white Suzuki 4x4 in Station Road at 5.25pm.

Today, police are calling for witnesses who may have seen what happened in the moments leading up to the collision.

The woman, who has not been named by police, was taken to hospital but died from her injuries later in the evening.

Officers are interested to speak to anyone who may have seen the collision or who saw the vehicle or woman before the incident happened.
