'Tornadoes' spotted over Kent as funnel clouds form over Eastry and Tilmanstone near Sandwich

This is the dramatic moment shocked onlookers saw a huge tornado forming over Kent.

Sky-spotters were stunned to see what appeared to be a twister in the skies over Sandwich yesterday morning.

It was one of two funnel clouds - technically not a tornado because they did not touch the ground - spotted at about 9.15am.

The first would-be tornado of rapidly rotating air was spotted in a dark sky over Eastry by Jae Kay.

And just moments later, another was photographed by Chelsie Meakin at a car boot sale in nearby Tilmanstone.
