FORMER Spurs and England footballers Martin Chivers and Alan Mullery will head to Kent this spring to help boost the coffers of the Pearl Newman Cancer Relief Fund.

Chivers, who has fond memories of East Kent having scored twice in Spurs’ 6-0 third round FA Cup win over Margate at Hartsdown Park in 1973, is returning to Thanet this April.

Together with his former club skipper Mullery, Chivers will be playing at the Boys & Maughan Charity Golf day at Princes Golf Club, Sandwich on Thursday, April 27. The pair will also feature at a presentation dinner after the event.

To book places for the golf and obtain further details, contact Colin James at Boys & Maughan on 01843 234000.
