Arrest at Gatwick after aggravated burglary at property in Edenbridge

A man has been arrested at Gatwick airport in connection with an aggravated burglary in Edenbridge.

He is the third suspect to be detained in connection with the raid at the property in Streatfield which allegedly saw three people burst into the house and threaten the occupants.

The 41-year-old, from Caterham, Surrey, was returing from a trip abroad yesterday when detectives swooped.

He has now been released, pending further inquiries.

The burglary was reported last Thursday and Lee Richards, 36, of Coulsdon, London, was subsequently charged with aggravated burglary and possessing cannabis with intent to supply.

He appeared before Maidstone Magistrates’ Court where he was remanded in custody and will next appear before Maidstone Crown Court on October 6.

A 37-year-old woman, also from Coulsdon, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, possessing a firearm and possessing cannabis and amphetamine with intent to supply.

She remains on bail until Tuesday, September 26 pending further investigation.
