A Crouch artist will feature in a popular television show tomorrow night.

James Knowles faced the unnerving prospect of having six of his oil paintings auctioned at Chelsea’s Lots Road Auction House in front of Channel 4’s cameras for The Auction House.

The show strives to give a behind the scenes glimpse on how collectors, dealers, auction staff and super rich customers behave at the famous auction.

Mr Knowles said: “It was a bit intimidating. I just did what I would normally do and tried not to get too caught up in the other stuff.

“A couple of times we had to redo some things and that was a bit like being in a movie set.

“I was nervous about having my work auctioned, art is very subjective and when it’s up there you do feel a bit exposed.”
