A broken down car transporter caused at least six miles of queues on the clockwise M25 this morning near Sevenoaks.

It happened between Junction 5 and Clacket Lane, blocking three out of four lanes at around 7am.

Congestion backed up to Junction 3 of the M20 at the Swanley Interchange, and on the M26 near Junction 2a for Wrotham.

The transporter was able to drive off and all lanes reopened just after 8am.

Highways England say traffic is easing but is still causing delays of up to 30 minutes.
