Firefighters were called to a house where a dishwasher had caught fire.

The blaze broke out at the property in Dartford Road, Sevenoaks, at around 9pm yesterday.

Two fire engines were sent to the scene and crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames, while using a smoke curtain to stop the fire from spreading.

They then used a high pressured fan to clear the home of any smoke and were able to leave the home after around 30 minutes.
