Police shut four lanes of the A21 in Sevenoaks after two elderly people rescued from crash

Two elderly people were rescued from a crash in Sevenoaks last night.

Emergency services were called to the London-bound carriageway of the A21 to reports of a collision between two cars at around 9.15pm.

Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to release an elderly woman who has trapped in one of the vehicles.

Police have been praised for keeping people safe and cutting crime

An elderly man was also led to safety by paramedics and both casualties were passed on to ambulance crews.

Police shut all four lanes between the A225 (Sevenoaks) and the A25 (Chipstead) while officers investigated.

All had reopened by 3.15am this morning.
