Kent Fire and Rescue Service help 18 hand shire horse in Halstead Lane, Knockholt

Kent Fire and Rescue Service's animal rescue unit was called to save a shire horse yesterday evening.

The specialist team attended a call out to a field in Halstead Lane, Knockholt, near Sevenoaks, at 5pm.

They were joined by two engines and spent just over an hour lifting the 18 hand (six foot) animal upright with a crane.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service attended the incident

The horse was checked over at the scene.
