Motorists facing delays on M25 near Sevenoaks after three car smash

Motorists heading towards Kent on the M25 faced delays after a three vehicle smash between junction 5 for the M26/A21 turn-off for Sevenoaks and Junction 6, for the A22 at Godstone.

Three lanes were blocked and traffic was queuing after the three car crash which happened not long before 5pm.

Lanes two, three and four of four were blocked and traffic was said to be passing slowly on the hard shoulder and in lane one.

It is not thought anyone was seriously injured in the smash, and Highways England said motorist should expect long delays.

A spokesman for police, said: "Kent Police was called to a collision, reported to involve three vehicles, at 4.49pm on Monday 11 September 2017.

"The South East Coast Ambulance Service have also been called and are assessing for injuries at the scene.

"Motorists are advised to expect some delays."

It is understood the damaged vehicles have now been moved to the side of the carriagway and traffic has begun to move again.

However, motorists were warned to still expect delays.
