Visitors can make the most of free parking in Sevenoaks and Westerham town centres this winter.

Sevenoaks District Council has waived parking charges on the two Saturdays before Christmas.

Charges will not apply on Saturday, December 12 and 19 and ahead of this parking will also be free in Westerham from 5pm on Thursday, November 26.

Residents can also enjoy free spaces on Friday, November 27 in Sevenoaks town centre from 6pm as part of late night shopping.

To help ensure fair access to parking for all, the council said it will continue to observe the rules around parking correctly in bays and maximum stay periods.

Sevenoaks District Council’s parking portfolio holder, Cllr Matthew Dickins, said: “Christmas is one of the busiest and most important times of the year for local traders.

“We hope the free parking offer will entice more visitors to the town, helping to boost trade and tourism as well as adding a little bit of extra Christmas spirit.”
