Gunman holds up bank staff

Police would like to question this man in connection with the robbery

DETECTIVES are hunting a robber who threatened two members of staff at a bank with a handgun and ordered them to hand over cash.

The man also took some money from the safe at the Woolwich bank in High Street, Sevenoaks, before escaping from the premises carrying a plastic bag.

Police have released CCTV stills and are appealing for information about the identity of a man they would like to talk to in connection with the robbery that happened at on Friday, July 7, at about 2.40pm.

The suspect is described as white and aged between 35 and 40. He was wearing a white t-shirt with a pattern on the front and a baseball cap.

Det Sgt Jerry Prodger said: "No-one was hurt during the robbery but, as is to be expected, the staff were very shocked by what happened. I am appealing to people who were in the high steet at the time to think back and if they think they saw this man or anything suspicious to contact police.’
