Detectives are appealing for witnesses after jewellery was stolen during a theft at an antiques shop.

It is alleged that at around 1pm on Tuesday a man entered a business in the High Street, Brasted, near Westerham, and used a hammer to smash a display cabinet.

The offender snatched a number of items and is said to have then fled the scene on a bicycle.

He is described as being white, of medium build, around 6ft tall and aged in his 40s or 50s and was wearing yellow gloves and a fluorescent yellow tabard, with the words ‘Daniel Owen Work Masters’ printed on it.

He also wore a black jacket with red sleeves, black glasses and a beige baseball cap.

Police inquires are ongoing, including reviewing any CCTV opportunities and carrying out a forensic examination of the crime scene.
