Three men who worked at Napoli E Italian restaurant in Market Square, Westerham nr Sevenoaks arrested for overstaying visas

Three men have been arrested after an immigration raid on a Sevenoaks restaurant.

Home Office enforcement officers visited Napoli E italian restaurant in Westerham on Saturday evening.

Three men from Sri Lanka, two aged 24 and the other 27, who had overstayed their visas were arrested.

They remain in detention while steps are taken to remove them from the country.

The business, in Market Square, was also served with a notice warning that a financial penalty of up to £20,000 per illegal worker found will be imposed unless the employer can demonstrate that appropriate right to work document checks were carried out.

If proof is not provided the business may have to pay up to £60,000.

Restaurant owner, known as Corrado, did not want to comment but said he is certain his staff hold the appropriate visas.
