Residents living in Sevenoaks can benefit from free first aid training sessions being offered by the council.

The sessions, being held at the council offices in Argyle Road, will be run by community first responder, James Crawley.

Those attending will be taught basic first aid and CPR in the hope it will help them feel more confident if faced with an emergency situation.

Health portfolio holder, Cllr Michelle Lowe said: “These first aid training sessions are a great way of refreshing existing skills but are also suited for people who have never attended a first aid training course, they are free and really worthwhile. More than 70 people attended the last course in April and due to popularity we have decided to run another.”

Mr Crawley believes basic CPR and first aid skills are essential. He said: "You never know when you might need to come to someone’s assistance at home, out shopping or in a restaurant.“By learning and applying some very simple steps, you could make the difference and ensure someone survives a heart attack."

The sessions are being held on Saturday, June 6 between 9.30am and 12.30pm and 1pm and 4pm
