Sevenoaks: Man accused of racially abusing staff at petrol station store

A man is due to appear in court after he was arrested on suspicion of racially abusing staff at a petrol station store.

On Monday, July 2, police were called to a disturbance at Little Waitrose, situated at the Shell petrol garage in London Road, Sevenoaks.

Officers attended the scene and the suspect was located and arrested, after which he was reported to have continued to shout racist abuse.

Stephen Jones, aged 35 and of Greatness Lane, Sevenoaks was taken into custody and later charged with committing a racially aggravated public order offence.

He has been bailed to appear before Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on 17 July.
