Man in 60s dies after being hit by train at Dunton Green station

A family have been left grieving after a man died at a train station.

Police descended on Dunton Green station on Friday afternoon after a person was hit by a train.

The person, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

British Transport Police have confirmed his family have been informed.

A spokesman said: "This incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

The death caused significant disruption between Sevenoaks and Orpington stations on Friday afternoon.

Network Rail switched off power to the stretch of Southeastern track, heading in both directions, until around 4pm.
