David Layton, of no fixed address, stole goods worth over £300,00 from supermarket in Aisher Way, Riverhead, Sevenoaks

A man who stole goods worth over £300 from a Sevenoaks supermarket has been jailed.

David Layton, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to two counts of shoplifting.

On December 18 2014 and March 27 this year the 43-year-old stole goods worth £150.45 and £240.93 from a supermarket in Aisher Way, Riverhead.

He was sentenced at Mid Kent Magistrates’ Court.

Magistrates sentenced Layton to 126 days in prison and ordered him to pay an £80 victim surcharge.
