James Short, of Watercress Drive, Sevenoaks, sentenced after threatening a woman in Childsbridge lane in Seal

A Sevenoaks man has been sentenced after using threatening behaviour towards a woman and stealing a set of keys.

James Shorter, of Watercress Drive, pleaded not guilty to theft and threatening behaviour but was convicted of both offences by magistrates on November, 24.

On April, 15 the 28-year-old used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards a woman in Childsbridge Lane, Seal, Sevenoaks, with intent to cause her harassment, alarm or distress.

The same day he stole a set of keys from the woman.

Magistrates ordered Shorter to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months and pay £620 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.
