Two men 'attempt cash machine theft' in Sevenoaks

A manhunt is underway after two men are thought to have been caught tampering with a cash machine.

The pair left empty handed when the alarm went off at the Sainsbury's in Otford Road, Sevenoaks, at 1.48am.

They were also disturbed by members of staff.

The police helicopter carried out a search of the nearby area.

Anyone who saw anybody acting suspiciously in the area or who has information that may help the investigation is urged to call the appeal line on 01622 604100 quoting reference 46/21096/18.

Separately, a 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicious of trying to steal a car.

He was arrested at 3.40am in the Horton Kirby area.

Officers have also seized a second suspected stolen car from his home address.

He remains in police custody while the investigation continues.
