Cyclist dies after falling off his bike near Sevenoaks

A 56-year-old cyclist who fell from his bike has died - with police still unsure exactly what happened.

The man was riding a green Bianchi Ultra bicycle when he came off in Starhill Road heading towards Dunton Green, near Sevenoaks, at 11.40am.

He was treated for injuries and flown to a London hospital after the crash on Sunday, August 15.

He died on Saturday, August 21.

It is still not known what caused the cyclist, from Hampshire, to fall, and Kent Police’s collision investigators are renewing their appeal for any witnesses to come forward.

A police spokesman said: "Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are continuing to investigate the circumstances and are appealing to any witnesses, who they have not yet spoken to, to contact them.

"They would also like to obtain any dashcam footage from anyone who had been driving in the area, which may show the victim’s movements leading up to the incident."
