Sevenoaks pedestrian, 67, dies after van hits him near roundabout on A224 London Road

A pedestrian in his 60s has died after he was hit by a van near a roundabout.

A white Ford Transit was travelling north along the A224 London Road, Riverhead, near Sevenoaks, at about 1pm, when the incident happened.

The 67-year-old man, who is from the area, was hit at the roundabout with Aiser Way and died at the scene, despite efforts from police and paramedics.

The road was still shut in both directions at 10pm with officers carrying out investigation work between Tesco and Pounsley Road.

Following the incident a 22-year-old man from Dartford has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He's been released under investigation as inquiries continue.

Police are appealing for anyone who was the collision or has CCTV and dashcam footage which can help their investigation.
