Pensioner in critical condition after car crash in Main Road, Westerham, near Westerham Heights Farm

A 70-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital following a serious car accident.

The pensioner was driving a Citroen Picasso which veered off the road and hit an electrical substation and neighbouring wood store in Main Road, Westerham, close to Westerham Heights Farm.

Emergency crews including the police and air ambulance rushed to the scene of the accident, which happened at 10.10am yesterday.

The victim remains in a critical condition at St George's Hospital in London.

Police are now appealing for information from anyone who saw the crash, which is not thought to have involved any other vehicles.
