Pensioner's purse stolen in supermarket distraction theft

A pensioner had her purse stolen from her shopping basket while being distracted at Waitrose.

The woman, aged in her 80s, was at the supermarket in Sevenoaks High Street on Tuesday when she was approached by a man and a woman.

Both her bag and purse were placed in her basket until she realised the purse was missing between 10.30 and 11.20am.

The pensioner's purse was stolen while in Waitrose

The man is described as white, late forties to early fifties and of large build with a moustache. He was wearing a black cap with a striped black and white top and was wearing dark trousers.

The woman is also described as late forties to early fifties and 5ft 10ins with black hair which was pulled back. The woman was wearing a pink fleece and grey bottoms.

These people were later seen getting into a blue saloon car.
