A woman has been taken to hospital in a serious condition after a crash at a petrol station.

Police and paramedics were called to the Wrotham Shell garage in London Road shortly after 2pm.

It comes after reports of a single vehicle collision on the forecourt.

A police spokesman said: "Patrols and South East Coast Ambulance Service were called to the premises at 2.09pm.

"A woman was treated for serious injuries and has been taken to a London hospital for further medical attention.

"An investigation into the circumstances of the incident is underway."

Motorists also reported the presence of fire services at the busy pumps near Sevenoaks and the M20.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they sent one fire engine to the scene, which arrived at 2.31pm and left just under an hour later.
