Dog rescued from hot car by police in Otford

A dog left in a car in 23 degree heat has been rescued by police near Sevenoaks.

The pooch was found in the vehicle which was parked in the sun in Otford.

Taking to Twitter, the force said: "Team 1 attended Otford today for a report of a dog in a hot car.

"This fluffy friend was very hot and bothered by the time we took him out of the car which had no windows down and parked in the sun in 23°C weather."

Officers added a reminder to the Tweet: "Dogs die in hot cars!"
