A road in Sevenoaks remains closed after three tonnes of builders' rubble was dumped.

Kent County Council was forced to close Chelsfield Lane yesterday after the fly-tipping was discovered.

A spokesperson said illegal and inconsiderate fly-tipping causes great inconvenience to road users and a financial burden to public money.

They added: "We would request anyone who witnesses fly tipping taking place to report the details to the police in order to tackle this environmental crime."

Staff have organised for the rubble to be cleared today.
