Works to fix a burst water main in a busy road near Sevenoaks are likely to remain in place over the weekend.

The A25 Main Road in Sundridge was closed in both directions just before 9.30pm last night.

It has since reopened with two-way temporary traffic lights installed between the Chevening Road and Church Road Crossroads, and New Road while repairs are carried out.

A spokesperson for Thames Water said: "Traffic lights will be in place while we fill in the hole we had to dig to fix the burst pipe, and resurface the road.

"We expect to finish this weekend and are sorry for any traffic delays caused by our work."
