The trial of a father accused of attempting to murder a man with a Samurai sword is due to start today at the Old Bailey.

Anthony Dinnadge, 39, denied attempted murder and an alternative charge of wounding Jason Catt with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon following the incident in October.

The alleged offences happened at Dinnadge’s home in West End, Brasted, near Westerham, on October 12.

Mr Catt needed 32 stitches in wounds to the back of his head and to his elbow after being taken to a London hospital.

Dinnadge was remanded in custody following his last hearing at Maidstone Crown Court in January and his trial is scheduled to last five days.
